Police Seize 100kg of Cannabis Sativa in Kakamega County
Police officers in Matungu, Kakamega County, have arrested a suspect and seized 100 kilograms of cannabis sativa following a motorcycle interception along the Busia–Mumias Highway.
According to the National Police Service, the officers from Matungu Police Station intercepted the motorcycle on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, during a routine patrol at Matungu Trading Centre.
The suspect was arrested and is being held at Matungu Police Station pending arraignment in court. The recovered cannabis and the motorcycle have also been impounded and detained as exhibits.
The National Police Service has reiterated its commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks, urging members of the public to help them by sharing information on drug pedlers with law enforcement officers.
