Suspect in Viral Parklands Robbery Arrested Along Northern Bypass
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a suspect linked to a violent robbery in Parklands, Nairobi, after he was captured in a viral video allegedly showing him and his accomplices attacking a member of the public and stealing his valuables.
The suspect, identified as Obed Makori, was apprehended along the Northern Bypass following an intelligence-led operation by detectives from Gigiri.
According to the DCI, the robbery suspect allegedly dropped a firearm during the incident. Police recovered the weapon and secured it as an exhibit as investigations into the robbery continued.
Makori had reportedly remained at large after the incident, evading arrest until detectives tracked him down in the latest operation.
He is being held in police custody pending processing and arraignment in court.
Detectives are continuing investigations and pursuing additional leads to identify and apprehend his alleged accomplices, who remain at large.
The arrest marks a development in the investigation into the widely circulated Parklands robbery video, as authorities seek to bring all those suspected of involvement before the law.
