ARREST OF SUSPECT OVER ONLINE INCITEMENT
Detectives from the DCI Headquarters Operations Action Team (OAT), in collaboration with the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), have arrested Festus Kipkirui, alias Festoo, over alleged online incitement.
Kipkirui is suspected of operating a Facebook page under the pseudonym Kipz Prince en Narok, which is currently under investigation over reports of content allegedly promoting incitement.
The suspect was arrested in Mararianda, Narok East, Narok County, and is undergoing police processing ahead of his anticipated arraignment in court to face relevant charges.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has reiterated its commitment to addressing offences that threaten national cohesion and peaceful coexistence, while urging members of the public to exercise responsibility in their online communications and refrain from content that promotes hatred, division or incitement.
